There are two ways to whiten your teeth. One option is to have custom whitening trays made. Bleach is applied to the trays and worn for a certain amount of time each day. The second option is to have an in-office teeth whitening treatment. We place bleach on your teeth and use a laser to allow the bleach to penetrate your teeth. At Mount Olympus Dental, we use the highest quality and most up to date whitening technology to give you the best smile possible.
Most offices in Utah charge between $300-$600 for either teeth whitening option (custom whitening trays or in-office treatment). Call our office to set up an appointment to discuss your individualized treatment plan and associated fees.
There has been no evidence found that shows teeth whitening treatments recommended by dentists damage teeth. There is, however, the possibility of experiencing tooth sensitivity for 1-2 days following the teeth whitening treatments. Tooth sensitivity can be reduced by using a fluoride toothpaste, which can be purchased at our dental office. At Mount Olympus Dental, we provide a complimentary fluoride treatment after each in-office teeth whitening treatment to reduce tooth sensitivity.
This mainly depends on your diet and dental hygiene, but the effects of teeth whitening treatments typically last 6 months to 1 year. Coffee, tea, red wine, soda, and tobacco are notorious for staining teeth so it is recommended that individuals avoid these products to make the whitening treatments last longer.
