The most common cause for a root canal is when a cavity goes untreated. The cavity can develop an abscess (a collection of pus) around the root of the tooth, or it can cause the tooth to die. This can cause extreme amounts of pain and often requires immediate dental attention. A root canal involves cleaning out the infection within the root. Most of the time, a crown is recommended following a root canal to maintain the structural integrity of the tooth.
Most offices in Utah charge between $600-$2,000 for a root canal. Call our office to set up an appointment to discuss your individualized treatment plan and associated fees.
You will be given local anesthetic which will prevent pain in the area during the procedure. There may be a small amount of soreness following the procedure that typically lasts 1-2 days.
